On March 13, Du Wei, deputy director of overseas Chinese affairs office of people's government of Jiangsu province and his delegation investigated the prosperous base of Chinese food.Vice President Chen Yaping and the minister of united front work department Liu Qiaoquan attended the event.The event was hosted by President Zhou Xiaoyan.

In his speech, Chen introduced the school's history and achievements as well as the characteristics and influences of the culinary major, and he said that the school would actively integrate resources and take full advantages of the culinary major in school running , and promote the construction of the base and make greater efforts for the prosperity of Chinese cuisine.

Zhou Xiaoyan introduced the essential work carried out by the base in 2018.On December 3, 2018, Yangzhou university led the establishment of the national Chinese cuisine prosperity base alliance for overseas Chinese project, and decided to set up the alliance secretariat for the overseas Chinese project -- Chinese food prosperity base in yangzhou university through the articles of association for overseas Chinese project -- Chinese Cuisine Prosperity Base Alliance and the Yangzhou Consensus.

Hou Bing, executive deputy director of Chinese cuisine prosperity base, reported the series of activities and achievements of the base since its establishment, as well as the working plan of the base in 2019.
